Water Resources at the current world

Water scarcity is a global problem that is getting worse. Climate change is intensifying the problem, pushing governments to find more innovative, collaborative ways to address water stress. Today, billions of people face some form of water stress1. The global population is growing fast, and estimates show that with current practices, the world will face a 40% shortfall between forecast demand and available supply of water by 20302. Half of the world’s population could be living in areas facing water scarcity by as early as 20253. Some 700 million people could be displaced by intense water scarcity by 20303. By 2040, roughly 1 in 4 children worldwide will be living in areas of extremely high water stress3.
